He Eats Salad?

So, I know I read everywhere saying that once your child reaches toddler age, they go through a massive picky eating phase. See, some of you are nodding and telling me to just wait! Yeah, I'm sure it's coming. But for now, I am basking in the fact that I have a Hoover vacuum for a son.(Wednesday he was Big Foot) The child eats everything in site. And when I say everything, I mean everything! For example, last night I made a peach and chicken salad. This contained bleu cheese, peaches, chicken, balsamic, other oils, and obviously lettuce. He couldn't suck in the lettuce fast enough and actually even loved bleu cheese! I was wishing at that moment the battery on my video camera wasn't dead or I would have had to record that moment. I know it's only a moment that a mom can enjoy and love when it's your own child, but it was so funny! To me.
So, I decided to write this quick post to remind myself in the future, that I haven't always had a picky eater. That when Gerber says 'Toddler' on the packages, obviously they don't always apply for every child. And I know I've said it before, but what are we going to do when he's a teenager! He's going to have to have a paper route by the time he's in 5th grade to keep up with his eating!

Okay, not fair! My son is picky picky picky. He will only eat certain things and it is so frustrating so I have learned to make homemade versions of his favorite things. ANyway, you are so lucky- enjoy it!

My guy likes olives. Gross. He didn't like the blue cheese, though.

I miss those days! Blaze used to eat anything and everything. But after he was sick so much we had to just get him to eat period. Now we struggle with finding out he likes other things again. It is hard when they go through the picky stage too. But i hear it does end. I sure hope so lol. Use this opportunity to make sure to introduce all kinds of food to your little booger. Anything and everything so he will get a taste for everything and maybe you will get lucky and he will stay accustomed to eating a huge variety.

YAY for you! I'm always weary of giving my son new foods because of his lack of teeth but you know what? They figure it out. I have days where my 1 1 /2 year old is a Hoover also. Last night he was eating mashed sweet potatoes and regular ole fried potatoes off my plate (I made both because I have 3 sons, 1 won't touch the sweet)... It was coming down to me still being hungry because he was eating it all. I love moments like this!

Our daughter is the same way!! It is too funny to watch when they discover new foods and gobble them down. Moments like those, make me realize that I was never truly entertained til I had a kid.

That is great! I have a picky one. We do the best we can with it and try not to make a big deal. Hopefully it will get better as he gets older. Maybe.
