Mama Knows Best

As soon as I got pregnant, these maternal instincts kicked in full force and I wasn't sure what was going on with me. Besides the not so fun things related to being pregnant, like the smell of onions making me want to waddle a mile away. Or sometimes eggs making me want to scream in terror, there was the unexplainable. Why and how in the world can I go from complete hysterical laughter to hysterical crying in a matter of seconds. Why am I bleaching the baseboards of my entire house and cleaning things that I would have never cleaned in my life?! I'll be the first to say I keep a tidy house, but I am not a OCD neat freak! Then those hormones kick in and some strange force of unexplainable nature takes over your body!

Well, now I'm a mom and I just know when something is wrong with my little bambino. Whether it is a simple cold, he's absolutley worn out, or by God, it's going to be one of those days. You already know when you get the kid up in the morning and wonder if noon is too early to have a glass of wine. Italians do it...right!?! This past weekend, I was out of town and Davis was with Michael all weekend long. My poor child has been back and forth lately from hotel and house, so I think it's been taking a toll on him. I immediately noticed right when I walked in the door that Davis wasn't looking too well. My child is beyond hyper active, won't sit still for a minute, and needs constant stimulation. So when I walk in, he is just laying on the couch, rubbing his eyes. Granted is was his nap time, but he was laying. Still! On the couch!! Is that MY child? Surely there is something wrong with him. He felt warm! No, no. Michael said it was because the house was just warm. I'm a mom and I so over react! Well, not this time my friend. 103.8 temperature nearly sent me over the edge! If you ask me, that is pretty high. My poor little guy wouldn't even take a nap. He fell asleep on my chest and was crying in his sleep. I felt so bad for him it made me tear up a little bit. And for Davis to actually fall asleep anywhere but his bed is very unlike him! Even though he wasn't feeling well, I bottled that day up and actually took advantage of my little man being sick. I know, sounds very weird I'm sure. I don't have a cuddler by any means.

Well, tonight I have a trunk show and wouldn't you know I have no one to watch Davis. With Michael being in another city now and not exactly knowing many people here, that somewhat poses as a problem. My friend is sick, so what to do. Images of Davis climbing my body while I'm trying to work are flying through my head. Not to leave out that it will be his dinner time. Oh, excuse me ladies while I make myself at home in your kitchen and fix my son dinner. Thank you. I'm sure everything will work out just fine and I just need to breathe. Until then, I do know of someone I could call! If you've been reading my blog, you've seen this picture before. They seem trustworthy, right?!

(It says Little Angels Daycare 24 hours...really? 24 hours??)

you know my husband is a resident, and a lot of the married residents were asking why they didn't have a 24 hour babysitting service for night calls and such...

they have day care... why not have night care
